In the story is the idiom he could ”hit a ball so hard and so far, it would land somewhere in the middle of next week”.
An idiom is a phrase that does not mean what it says. An example of an idiom is the phrase “a chip on your shoulder”. This phrase does not mean to actually have a piece of wood on your shoulder. It means to be upset about something that has happened in the past.
Explain the idiom ”hit a ball so hard and so far, it would land somewhere in the middle of next week”, then think of or find 3 idioms and write them (they do not have to be from the story). Then write a sentence to explain what they actually mean.
